Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.

It is administered by ‘laying on hands’ and is based on the idea that an unseen ‘life force energy’ flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s ‘life force energy’ is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

What does Reiki feel like?

What one experiences during a Reiki treatment varies somewhat from person to person. However feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all. In addition, many feel a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and surrounds them.

As the Reiki energy encourages one to let go of all tension, anxiety, fear or other negative feelings a state of peace and well being is experienced. Some drift off to sleep or report floating outside their bodies or have visions and other mystical experiences.

At the end of the treatment, one feels refreshed with a more, positive, balanced outlook.

The session with Linda was amazing. She is very intuitive and skilled at adapting the treatment to meet the needs of the client. I felt nurtured and nourished by the whole experience, and was reluctant to get off the treatment table. Linda created an environment and atmosphere where I felt as if I'd stepped off 'clock-time' and was floating in a bubble of bliss. Can't wait to go back.

Who can receive Reiki?

However, Reiki may be added as a form of complementary care.

What do I wear?

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. You may wish to wear natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, or silk. Remove shoes, jewelry, and glasses before your session.

From the minute that I stepped into Linda's sanctuary, I felt relaxed, at ease, nurtured and fully held. These feelings continued and were nicely amplified during our whole session. Linda has a real gift, her gentle touch eased my strains away and the crescendo of the Reiki at the end fully rebooted me. Linda thinks of everything from tuning in to what you "really need" prior to arrival, ensuring there is a lovely warm herbal tea ready and of course the bespoke essential oils which allow you to maintain the healing that Linda has poured so lovingly poured into you! I cannot wait for my next session!

What happens in Reiki?

The practitioner places their hands lightly on or over specific areas of the head, limbs, and torso for between 2 to 5 minutes. The practitioner does not have to touch the body. While the practitioner holds their hands lightly on or over the body the transfer of energy takes place. During this time, the practitioner's hands may be warm and tingling. Each hand position is held until the practitioner senses that the energy has stopped flowing.
